It’s been a long time since someone came up with a drama serial based on teh youth. Well, it appears that the wait is over. The promos of a play titled Dreamers, which can be seen on a music TV channel, have grabbed the at tention of many a young boy and girl. Watching a couple of its episodes made you realise that the direction of the play is pretty good. As it should be, because Azfar Ali has directed it who is now a pretty experienced helmer and has to his credit an extremely popular sitcom Sub Set Hai aired nearly a decade back.





An itsy bitsy worrisome aspect of Dreamers is its actors. While it is understandable that they’re a young lot ( including the protagonist who is Javed Shaikh’s son ) and are on a learning curve, all of them seem to be influenced by the Bollywood style of acting. Their mannerisms, their gestures and even the way they say their lines give the impression as if you’re watching an abridged version of Shahid Kapoor—-Ayesha Takiya film. Though there’s nothing majorly wrong with that, you’d like to see urban Pakistani youth the way they are in real life. Just an observation…!!!
