Robert Pattinson & Reese Witherspoon News Water For Elephant Film News

Circus Folk And Love
An elephant film not based in the Far East could very well describe the latest romantic offering, Water For Elephants. The name makes it sound like a National Geographic special on pachyderms, but in actuality it’s a somber, serious search in human behaviour.
Set in the Great Depression period of the 1930s, the film stars Robert Pattinson as Jacob Janowski, a promising veterinary student who has everything going his way,.
But after his parents die in a car crash, Jacob jumps onto a train in order to escape the harsh realities of life.

Onboard he encounters a group of people who are searching for the meaning of life: misfits, jugglers and performers, all part of a second-rate circus struggling to make ends meet, moving from one town to the other.
The circus provides solace in Jacob’s life, and he finds work as the in-charge of caring for the circus menagerie.
In particular, he meets Rosie, an elephant who seems un-trainable until he discovers a way to reach her. Our hero also meets Marlena ( Reese Witherspoon)., a beautiful young star who is married to August ( Christoph Waltz), the charismatic but twisted animal trainer.
The film tells a story of love between two people that overcomes incredible odds in a world where it is a luxury that few can afford.
Water for Elephants is based on Sara Gruen’s novel of the same name and the film is directed by Francis Lawrence.
The Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson pairing is bound to please fans of both the stars and movie-goers as well. Pattinson bolds his own throughout the film, however the chemistry seems to be missing hence the romance does not really take off. That in itself seems to put the focus firmly on the circus spectacle, reminding viewers of the time when Hollywood used to make such movies on a grand scale.
The film happily settles into a true family outing. For director Francis Lawrence, Water For Elephants is ye another interesting project, albeit different from his usual sci-fi thrillers ( I am legend, Constantine). Francis it seems, wanted to embark on a journey of human emotions that is set closer to real life than his previous work.
