Peshawar’s Fashion Week News Peshawar Girls Celebration News
With incessant talk and rumours surrounding the fashion gala in Peshawar, finally on May 7 with tightly crossed fingers and concern writ large on the faces of both those at the helm of affairs and the invitees about the event taking place sans any glitches at the PC Hotel, the National Fashion & Arts Council a new Peshawar based fashion council managed to deliver on most counts.
It announced its arrival on the scene with the wildly unique and hard to grasp concept of the presence of a fashion council in Peshawar that would hold regular events and shows.

Supermodel Nadia Hussain, flown in especially from Karachi along with Iraj, announced the holding of a fashion week in September 2011 under the council banner. If there were any doubts ( of which I am sure there were many) in the wake of Nadia’s announcement, who was acting as council spokesperson, those present that evening did well to keep such concerns to themselves and wait and see how events unfold in the months leading up to it.
Back to the show and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain along with Muhammad Azam Khan Secretary Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism were among the notables present. Shamoon Hashmi was teh anchor.
With Farhad Hussain as CEO, Ali Asghar as Director Operations and Waqas Ahmed as Director of Fashion and Arts of the NF and AC, the designers roped in to showacse their collections on the ramp included Fahad Hussain, Ali Xeeshan and Mohsin Ali From Lahore, Obaid Sheikh and Anee Khawafa From Karachi and Hameeda and Aleezay from Peshawar.
The Female lot of showstopers were Iraj and of course Nadia Hussain, along with Sofia Mirza, Laila, Aleze, Ash Khan and Zarmeenay.
Single handedly responsible for the hair and make-up was Bilal Khan. who has received training from none other than guru and mentor Khawar Riaz. He did a professional job of dolling up the catwalk queens.
Finally, the Council deserves credit for taking a bold step where others fear to tread by holding a fashion related event in Peshawar and announcing an upcoming fashion week at that.
